about the role:
the sourcing manager for patient support programs is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for u.s.based patient support services within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment. This role partners closely with patient services, legal, compliance, finance, and vendor management to ensure patient programs are supported by compliant, cost‑effective, scalable, and high‑performing external suppliers.
The role manages end‑to‑end sourcing activities across patient support categories such as hub services, affordability and copay programs, adherence services, clinical and educational services, and other non‑promotional patient engagement solutions. The sourcing manager leads vendor selection, contracting review, commercial negotiations, and supplier performance co-oversight while ensuring alignment with regulatory guidance (e.g., oig), internal governance, and patient‑centric objectives.

key responsibilities
- lead sourcing strategy and execution for u.s. Patient support program services, including rfi/rfp/rfq processes, vendor evaluations, and supplier selection
- partner with patient services and cross‑functional stakeholders to translate program needs into clear, compliant sourcing and contracting requirements
- drive commercial negotiations, including pricing models, scope optimization, service‑level agreements, and risk allocation
- ensure all sourcing activities comply with applicable healthcare regulations, internal policies, and patient support governance frameworks
- support review of statements of work (sows), contract amendments, renewals, and program expansions
- collaborate with legal, compliance, privacy, and pharmacovigilance to address regulatory, data, and safety requirements in vendor engagements
- contribute to budget planning, cost transparency, savings identification, and financial forecasting for patient support services
- monitor supplier performance, support issue resolution, and enable continuous improvement across patient programs, in support of the vendor management team.
- maintain awareness of market dynamics, emerging vendor capabilities, and innovative solutions relevant to patient support delivery, through regular market analysis reports to bring external insights to the team.
*qualifications & experience*:
- bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., procurement, supply chain) preferred
- experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry
- demonstrated experience sourcing complex services in regulated environments, ideally related to patient support, healthcare services, or life sciences operations
- strong understanding of vendor management, contracting, and cross‑functional collaboration
- ability to balance cost, risk, compliance, and patient experience considerations in sourcing decisions
- strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
