standard costing
leads the operations finance function for the hes juarez site, managing the full lifecycle of standard costs—from initial development and implementation to annual updates and variance analysis. Oversees a comprehensive annual standard cost revaluation process, including multiple review cycles to align with cross‑functional stakeholders and eliminate errors. Collaborates with operations, planning, and engineering to understand cost drivers and ensure accurate cost allocations. Responsibilities also include detailed analysis of mrp, job costing, work orders, boms, routings, and overhead rates, as well as managing costing period openings and closings. Drives issue identification and leads cross‑functional issue resolution.
labor capacity planning & productivity monitoring
partners with operations leadership to align direct labor staffing with production demands while monitoring labor efficiency and productivity. Balances capacity flexibility and cost‑effectiveness by carefully managing overtime levels. Supports and evaluates labor productivity initiatives, including capital investments aimed at reducing labor requirements.
management reporting
utilizes sap and other bi tools to generate and analyze costing reports, identifying and explaining variances against standard or budgeted costs to provide data‑driven insights for decision‑making and cost optimization. Follows up on actions deployed in response to unfavorable variances to ensure remediation of underlying issues. Engages with all functional areas and levels of the organization to provide finance support required to make informed business decisions, helping to drive compliant and profitable execution. Effectively “tells the story” of the site’s weekly and monthly results vs. plan, forecast and prior periods. Demonstrates a strong ability to synthesize complex financial matters in simple and actionable terms.
budgeting and forecasting
develops, loads and communicates the plant’s annual budget, monthly forecast and weekly pulse. Closely monitors plant spending across all departments and seeks opportunities to optimize spending. Includes ad‑hoc analysis and presentation to management as needed, providing commentary on results, including all kpis. This includes, but is not limited to, income statement, department spending, inventory, production activity and capital expenditure planning.
monthly close
independently executes the month‑end financial close for the hes juarez site. This includes journal entries, shipment cut‑off testing, income statement review, results validation in onestream financial reporting software, fp&a support and other tasks as required.
compliance
serves as the primary owner of the hes control environment at the juarez site. Ensures compliance with gaap and statutory requirements. Implements and monitors internal controls in alignment with company policies to safeguard assets and ensure reporting integrity. Oversees sox compliance, internal audits, controllership reviews, physical inventories, fixed asset tracking, cycle counts, management certifications, and shipping & receiving cut‑off processes.
team leadership
provides strong leadership of the hes juarez operations finance team, fostering a culture that supports the key pillars of hubbell’s core strategy (serve our customer, grow the enterprise, operate with discipline, develop our people). Leverages deep knowledge of company culture and best practices to enhance cost management processes and stakeholder support. what will help you thrive in this role?
* 10+ years’ experience in operations finance with a large (> $1b) multi‑national manufacturing environment, including on‑site manufacturing exposure.
* 5+ years in a financial leadership role with direct team management responsibilities.
* 5+ years of general accounting experience, with a strong understanding of end‑to‑end financial processes.
* proven experience supporting a mexico‑based division of a u.s. owned manufacturing company; preferably with a maquila.
* demonstrated ability to report in foreign currencies and navigate international financial operations.
* advanced proficiency in microsoft office suite, particularly excel and powerpoint; experience with outlook, word, and sharepoint.
* direct experience with financial systems including sap (finance and cost modules), blackline, and onestream (preferred).
* strong background in designing, implementing, and maintaining internal controls in a large corporate environment.
* solid understanding of u.s. Gaap and financial compliance standards.
* skilled in synthesizing complex financial data, exercising sound judgment, and delivering actionable insights.
