The Junior Controller for allnex Americas GBS and allnex Canada will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This position is responsible for driving process improvements, enhancing resource allocation, and fostering collaboration across teams. The role also supports knowledge sharing and contributes to the continuous improvement of financial operations within the organization.
Responsibilities
Finance
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial statements for Canada and Mexico under IFRS, GAAP, and tax regulations.
Research and apply appropriate accounting treatments for complex or unusual transactions.
Review monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations prepared locally and by GBS.
Support GBS in resolving financial transaction issues and maintaining internal controls.
Monitor business performance and provide insights to improve profitability and cost management.
Provide timely cost and management accounting data to general and local leadership.
Collaborate with global finance teams (e.g., Consolidation, FP&A) as needed.
External Auditors
Coordinate and complete financial and tax audits in a timely manner.
Manage annual audit processes for allnex Americas GBS and allnex Canada, including preparation of schedules and reports for KPMG.
Maintain and update process flow documentation for audit and internal use.
Tax
Lead and coordinate tax return preparation with Deloitte, including supporting schedules for federal and provincial filings.
Collaborate with GBS experts on indirect tax matters.
Work with HR on payroll tax reconciliations.
Prepare local transfer pricing documentation and support the MSA process.
Month-End Close
Ensure accurate and timely journal entries in collaboration with the GBS Finance Team.
Investigate expenditure variances and provide insights to finance and business partners.
Prepare financial tax provisions and maintain updates in the tax reporting system (OneSource).
Treasury
Support monthly intercompany cash netting for allnex Americas GBS and allnex Canada.
Special Projects.
Identify and propose SAP system improvements related to financial processes.
Assist with various finance and business-related projects as needed.
Required skills and experience
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or related fields.
Experience in a Global Business Services (GBS) environment is a plus.
Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong background in financial systems and process improvement initiatives.
Solid understanding of plant control activities from a finance perspective.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
