About the role:
we are seeking a results-driven and operationally savvy financial plant controller to serve as the finance leader in the plant. This is a high-impact leadership role for this manufacturing site and across the region/segment/division
reporting directly to north america regional controller, the financial plant controller will own all aspects of plant-level financial operations by partnering closely with operations, supply chain and other members of the plant staff management.
key responsibilities:
cost accounting & financial reporting
·prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual plant financial statements and management reports
·analyze cost drivers, cost conversion variances, and operating margins to provide actionable insights to plant leadership
·ensure timely and accurate period-end close activities
inventory control
·oversee inventory valuation, cycle count, and physical inventory processes
·identify and address inventory risks including slow-moving, obsolete, and excess
·partner with supply chain and production to maintain optimal inventory levels and accuracy
customs trade
·supervise customs team to held responsible for both operations and compliance in the us and mx
·be responsible of all customs matters supported by a specialized team, brokers, and external consultants as required
financial analysis & planning
·lead plant-level budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes
·develop financial models and scenario analyses to support capital investment decisions and operational initiatives
·track and communicate kpis, financial trends, and performance against targets
project management
·lead and support capital expenditure and cost reduction initiatives
·lead continuous improvement efforts in financial processes, systems, and controls
leadership & team development
·lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals
·build a finance culture grounded in integrity, accountability, and urgency
·serve as a trusted business partner and financial advisor
internal controls & compliance
·design, implement, and monitor robust internal controls to safeguard company assets
·coordinate with internal auditors and ensure compliance with corporate, regulatory, and tax requirements
·uphold the highest standards of financial ethics and transparency in all activities
qualifications & requirements
education - bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field required,
experience - 5+ years of demonstrated management experience in accounting or financial leadership roles
prior experience in a manufacturing / maquiladora environment is highly preferred
hands-on experience or expert knowledge in cost accounting, inventory control, and plant financial operations
bilingual english/spanish
technical skills:
·hands-on experience or expert knowledge in standard cost accounting
·hands on experience with main erp systems (jde, sap, oracle, or equivalent);
·advanced excel skills are required
·knowledge and experience with mx and us customs laws and regulations
