the financial controller manages month-end closing, analyzes financial data, prepares reports, oversees tax and regulatory filings, and maintains the integrity of the company’s financial systems for manufacturing operations in torreon, coahuila, mexico.
main responsibilities
* review and approve account reconciliations and journal entries, guiding the team on technical aspects.
* prepare monthly financial statements, footnotes, and schedules for corporate reporting.
* conduct p&l and balance sheet reviews to ensure data accuracy across systems.
* perform variance analysis on costs and provide insights and recommendations.
* lead the annual budget process and analyze actuals versus budgets.
* present month-end results and advise cfo and leadership.
* oversee tax and audit requests, ensuring compliance.
* collaborate on special projects with corporate and intercompany teams.
* support cross-functional initiatives and department expense forecasting.
* manage capital acquisition requests and analyze roi for key decisions.
qualifications/requirements
* 8-10 years of accounting/audit experience, with at least 5 years in management.
* cpa certification required.
* strong project management, organization, and attention to detail.
* excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to tight schedules.
* analytical and problem-solving skills, with research and reconciliation expertise.
* oracle erp experience preferred.
* big 4 and international experience preferred.
* leadership and personnel management skills.
* dependable, responsible, and able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
* advanced english skills for international communication.
