This position is a technical and new market development role covering the americas. It will start as a one-person department but will expand under this position as the business grows. It will include travel to customers in north america and south america as well as mexico. Key market targeting are oil and gas chemicals, agro chemicals, hi&i, and metal working.
we are now ready to launch a program to develop the america’s market for our surfactants and specialties. To be successful, the candidate must have a deep technical background to understand how the materials effect the application and be able to translate those needs through to the products and blends that we can make in mexico or china. The business has sales people located in houston, sao paulo and mexico city. The business development manager will work together with the sales team to launch new targeted initiatives and to leverage success cases thought out the region.

* technical ability to translate the needs of the market to r&d and marketing teams in china
* provide insight into the target markets such as oil and gas chemicals, agro chemicals, hi&i, and metal working in the americas
* survey target markets, assess fit to our needs and to develop a plan to attack the most attractive segments.
* development of market strategies in association with the america's commercial team
* development of presentations of products and solutions
* promote our products and capabilities in the region through trade show or digital marketing
* frequent visits to customers
* development of strong multi-level relationships with all key accounts
* negotiating yearly sales / margin budget america’s ceo
* putting together strategic plans and executing the plans to achieve the yearly sales budget
* communicating globally on key customers and market trends
* use of account planning methodology and use of salesforce

education requirements:
* chemical engineering, chemistry or other technical degree
* mba preferred
other qualifications:
* more than 5 years experience in r&d or technical service or product management
* good understanding of the surfactant chemistry
* technical ability to learn areas
* ability to develop new and unfamiliar markets
* excellent written and verbal communication skills in english
* high proficiency in microsoft applications, salesforce and sap.
* excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
* multicultural work environment experience a plus
* must be fluent in english and spanish – portuguese and mandarin would be a plus
