hsbc's financial crime (fc) detection & digital enablement coe invites applications for the analyst transaction sanctions & name screening l3 role.
role purpose
the coe supports detection and mitigation of fc risks across hsbc group and regions by conceiving, developing, deploying and maintaining fc detection solutions.
this role focuses on sanctions alert adjudication, supporting the sanctions alert investigations lead, providing subject-matter expertise, and escalating issues raised by country sanctions officers or lob colleagues.
main activities
fulfill and execute required regional level alert adjudication.
follow global standards on decision making of false positives and potential true matches.
effectively support the sanctions alert investigations lead in achieving management responsibilities.
provide subject-matter expertise to implement globally led sanctions change initiatives within the regional alert investigations team.
act as the initial escalation point for issues raised by country sanctions officers or colleagues from lob.
provide management and direction to cross-functional experts (pods) from analytics, technology, transformation and product management and key stakeholders across global functions and regions.
implement a consistent and effective management approach across functional areas.
prime interface within the detection value stream for all change and prioritisation matters.
support fc leadership in delivering investment across technology, intelligence, and analytics to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, security and cost profile of fc.
assist in drive, develop and implement programmes to quantify impacts and implement actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of fc-related regulatory changes across the fc control framework.
attend and represent fc in governance forums and meetings as required.
ensure all alert cases (false positive/true matches) are fully documented and decided within agreed timescales.
escalate true matches correctly and within agreed timescales.
complete all reporting activity error free and on time.
complete alert adjudication root cause analysis.
manage all alerts within agreed sla and document any missed sla.
provide accurate subject-matter expertise within business and regional context.
maintain processing targets and process alerts error free and on time.
requirements
risk professional with experience in one or more risk compliance roles, including sanctions experience.
knowledge of sanctions regulations / guidance and their application to sanctions alert adjudication.
knowledge of swift messages (preferred but non-mandatory).
knowledge of banking products and services including global trade instruments.
understanding of different types of corporate structures.
experience within the financial services industry.
lateral thinker with ability to interpret and solve complex issues.
high level of english language skills.
proficient in microsoft office applications.
excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
ability to adapt to change and provide input where necessary.
