We are hiring: project cost engineer – body systems (automotive) we are seeking to identify three project cost engineers to join the body team supporting a leading global oem.this role focuses on cost estimation, analysis, and optimization across key body and exterior vehicle systems.technical scopeexterior (fascia, spoiler)body in white (biw)lighting and/or sealing, glazing, mechanismskey responsibilities (costing & estimation)develop detailed should-cost models for body and exterior components and assembliesperform bottom-up cost analysis including materials, labor, overhead, scrap, tooling, and logisticsanalyze manufacturing processes such as stamping, welding, painting, plastic injection molding, extrusion, and assembly to identify cost driversconduct supplier quotation analysis (rfq) and validate pricing against technical assumptionsbuild and maintain cost databases and parametric cost modelssupport design-to-cost (dtc) and value analysis/value engineering (va/ve) initiativesperform benchmarking using historical data, industry standards, and market intelligenceestimate tooling and capital expenditures, including amortization modelsevaluate make vs. buy scenarios and sourcing strategiestrack cost evolution across program phases (rfq, sourcing, development, industrialization, production)perform gap analysis vs. target cost and drive cost recovery actionscollaborate with engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to achieve cost targetsrequirementsminimum 3 years of experience in cost engineering or technical engineeringexperience within oem or tier 1 automotive suppliers preferredstrong understanding of design, manufacturing processes, and cost analysisexperience with body, exterior, or lighting systems is a strong advantageadvanced excel and cost modeling capabilitiesintermediate english (professional working level)detailslocation: near stellantis santa fe technical center (mexico city area) or open to relocationwork model: hybridtime zone: mexico
