Chief of staff & office manager at moreton capital partners (mcp)moreton capital partners is a global, systematic commodities hedge fund.we operate across north america, combining machine learning, quantitative research, and deep market expertise to build next-generation trading systems in global futures and options.we are seeking a chief of staff & office manager based in mexico city to act as the operational and cultural backbone of our growing international team.this role will work directly with the cio, coo, and head of research to oversee office operations, hr and talent development, compliance coordination, and strategic initiatives.it is a rare opportunity to play a central role at a high-performance investment firm, shaping culture, processes, and operational excellence as we scale globally.key responsibilitiesoffice & operational management: oversee daily operations of mcp's mexico city office, including workspace setup, vendor relations, and coordination for visiting executives and investors; manage scheduling, meeting logistics, and travel across mexico, cayman, u.s., and europe time zones.track and reconcile expenses, maintain invoices, and support budget management for local and global operations; manage documentation and filing systems for cayman gp/lp, delaware llc, and mexico sapi entities.maintain the firm's internal project tracker (notion/slack) to ensure smooth cross-team communication and prepare meeting minutes, summaries, and follow-ups for investment committee, risk, and operations calls.talent development, hr & culture: manage end-to-end hiring logistics for interns, engineers, researchers, and global staff, overseeing onboarding and offboarding processes, including hardware setup, access permissions, contracts, and cultural integration.build and maintain hr databases, benefits administration, and performance review systems; coordinate internship programs with top universities such as unam, itesm, berkeley, and toronto.drive firm culture through team-building initiatives, wellness support, and offsite event planning, supporting leadership in implementing talent development plans, mentorship initiatives, and professional growth frameworks.compliance, legal & regulatory affairs: coordinate regulatory filings, board documentation, and entity governance across cayman, u.s., and mexico; maintain compliance calendars and track key deadlines (cima, cta/cpo, fatca/crs).
manage execution of legal documents like ndas, resolutions, and contracts, ensuring version control; support investor onboarding processes (kyc/aml) and maintain confidential records securely.work with legal counsel to align local hr, data protection, and corporate policies with regional regulations.finance and accounting: coordinate expense management and vendor invoicing; liaise with accounting partners on local mexico sapi financials and tax filings.track renewal dates for software, data vendors, and service provider contracts; assist in preparing internal financial dashboards and summaries for leadership review.strategic projects & executive support: serve as the operational right hand to the cio and coo, managing priorities, schedules, and execution of strategic initiatives; prepare briefing notes and meeting packs for investor calls, conferences, and board meetings.coordinate investor communications logistics, including scheduling, material preparation, and follow-up; maintain firmwide documentation and policies like compliance manuals, employee handbooks, and sops.support special projects such as fund launches, new entity formations, and strategic partnerships, managing confidential communications with discretion.data, technology & productivity: administer internal systems, monitor data integrity alerts, and liaise with the engineering team on system uptime and reporting checks; coordinate cybersecurity measures, device management, and 2fa compliance.international coordination: act as the main communication bridge between the mexico city hub and the northern hemisphere team; manage logistics for cross-border investor events, conferences, and due diligence meetings; track visas, travel risk, and insurance compliance for all international travel.requirementsfluent in english and spanish (written and verbal).
minimum 3+ years' experience in operations, office management, executive support, or chief of staff-style roles (preferably in finance, tech, or professional services).
highly organized, discreet, and detail-oriented, with a bias for execution and ownership.strong grasp of financial, legal, or hr processes; comfort working across jurisdictions.ability to work across north american time zones.culturally fluent and proactive in building team morale and cohesion.
