are you a strategic commercial leader with a passion for brand building and a deep understanding of the mexican market?
the advocate group is proud to partner exclusively on a confidential search for an experienced area director to lead operations across central america, the caribbean, and—critically—mexico, which represents 70% of the region’s revenue.
in this pivotal role, you’ll take full p&l ownership for a premium portfolio of globally respected consumer brands. You will drive long-term, sustainable growth through data-led commercial execution, robust distributor relationships, and localised go-to-market strategies—all aligned with global standards of excellence.
key responsibilities:
* lead the end-to-end commercial strategy across the region, with a strong focus on performance in mexico.
* develop and execute market-specific brand plans and joint business planning with distributors.
* negotiate and manage key distribution agreements and trade terms.
* ensure alignment with global marketing, brand equity goals, pricing architecture, and regulatory standards.
* drive profitability, commercial capability, and roi from a&p investment.
about you:
* proven senior leadership experience within the fmcg or premium consumer goods sector.
* in-depth understanding of the mexican market is essential —including distributor management, regulatory context, and consumer dynamics.
* strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering sustained growth through partner-led models.
* experience working within global matrix structures and cross-functional collaboration frameworks.
* fluent in english and spanish, with the ability to travel regionally.
