test engineer – torreón
qualifications
* 2–5 years of experience as a test engineer, qa engineer, or in a similar software testing role
* strong understanding of software testing methodologies and the software development life cycle (sdlc)
* experience using test management tools such as jira, azure devops, or similar platforms
* hands‑on experience performing functional and regression testing across different applications
* familiarity with automation testing tools such as selenium, cypress, or appium
* experience testing apis using tools like postman or swagger
* highly analytical with strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
* excellent verbal and written communication skills and enjoyment of collaborating with cross‑functional teams
* knowledge of sql for data validation and troubleshooting
* familiarity with ci/cd pipelines and devops practices in modern software development environments
* exposure to performance testing tools such as jmeter or k6
* hold an istqb certification or a similar testing‑related certification
responsibilities
as a test engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications by supporting testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, and cross‑functional teams to validate system functionality, improve testing processes, and support high‑quality software delivery.
responsibilities include:
* analyzing business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documentation to create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing scenarios.
* executing functional, integration, system, regression, and exploratory testing while ensuring accurate defect documentation, requirement traceability, and reliable test coverage across applications and platforms.
* supporting automation testing initiatives by developing and maintaining automated test scripts using tools such as selenium, cypress, playwright, or appium.
* contributing to the integration of automated test suites into ci/cd pipelines, support automation framework improvements, and help enhance testing efficiency and reporting capabilities.
* ensuring compliance with established qa standards, processes, and best practices while maintaining detailed testing documentation, including test results, defect logs, and summary reports.
* participating in root‑cause analysis activities and collaborating with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
* actively participating in sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize qa methodologies and delivery processes.
