General Description:
Review customer schedules and develop, communicate, and monitor a part number lever schedule by work center for the plant. Use engineering plans and production specifications to produce schedules, material requirements lists, and production plans, forecasting direct labor requirements based on customer demand and routing labor details within the plant ERP system. Check production activity to ensure a controlled flow of materials to meet production requirements. Collaborate with management to organize schedule changes due to backlogs, design changes, and material or labor shortages. Evaluate production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and manpower requirements.
Activities:
1. Review customer schedules and develop, communicate, and monitor a part number lever schedule by work center for the plant.
2. Publish a rough cut capacity load by work center based on future customer forecasts.
3. Forecast the plant's direct labor requirements using customer demand and routing labor details within the plant ERP system.
4. Maintain the plant's achievement to schedule metric, ensuring leadership understands the goal and plans to achieve at least 85%.
5. Establish and monitor FG/WIP safety stock levels based on the plant's ability to meet schedules. Support the engineering change process as required by the Supply Chain Manager.
6. Participate with the SCM team to achieve targets, goals, and objectives.
7. Assist in managing the ECN process.
8. Monitor customer forecasts, compare quoted capacities to required capacities, and communicate overages to the SCM manager in advance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3-5 years of experience as a Material Planner, including maritime experience
