The accounts payable maintains and controls sub-ledger activity for accounts payable through data entry and reconciliations. This role includes analytical work and thorough review of vendor records, and involves communication across departments to ensure accurate and timely payments and reconciliations.
essential duties and responsibilities
* day-to-day accounts payable functions:
o review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
o code invoices with correct codes conforming to standard procedures for proper entry into the financial system.
o prepare batch check runs, wires, online payments, and other ach transactions.
o prioritize invoices according to terms.
o process payment requests outside of regular batch runs.
o respond to vendor inquiries.
o convert purchase orders to vendor invoices, matching up appropriate documentation.
o maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting principles.
* monthly, quarterly, and annual processes and projects:
o 1099 maintenance and filings.
o vendor record maintenance.
o investigate and resolve problems associated with processing invoices and purchase orders.
o receive, research, and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolutions of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
o reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
o assist in month and quarter end closing.
o special projects as needed.

o bachelor’s degree in accounting.
* experience:
o 3+ years of accounts payable experience or training within an accounting function/department, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

o strong communication skills and the ability to multitask.
o strong quantitative and organizational skills.
o ability to interact effectively with business partners and all levels of management.

* technical proficiency:
o proficiency in microsoft office, data analysis, google apps, and quickbooks.
* language skills:
o must be able to effectively communicate in english, both verbally and written.
* math skills:
o basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
* travel requirements:
o occasional travel required between buildings and sites.
* location and work environment:
o must reside in guadalajara and be able to work in a hybrid model, attending the office as required.
