Overview
our client seeking a head of finance to oversee all financial operations for their sweepstakes business. This role will manage accounting, reporting, cash flow, audits, and tax compliance, while driving strong financial controls and system optimisation. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in us gaap, corporate tax, and the igaming sector, with the ability to balance strategic oversight and hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
responsibilities
* responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting for us based entities. This would include bank reconciliations, payment provider reconciliations and player balance reconciliations and journal posting.
* lead and oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, quarterly reporting packs and implement a robust financial control environment to optimise cost control efforts.
* act as the main point of contact with internal and external stakeholders on all financial matters.
* preparation of cash flow forecasts as required to ensure optimal capital management.
* review and lead the systems management, optimising where needed
* manage the annual statutory accounting and audit process and preparation of annual financial statements under us gaap.
* overseeing accurate tax reporting and accounting with the assistance of external consultants.
* assist key stakeholders with financial analysis and support, along with other ad-hoc tasks as necessary
qualifications
* 3+ years of senior finance/accounting experience within the igaming sector, ideally in a b2c igaming operator environment.
* strong knowledge of us gaap with proven experience preparing statutory financial statements under us gaap.
* demonstrated experience in us corporate tax compliance (federal and state), including interaction with tax advisors and regulators.
* experience managing external audits and statutory reporting requirements for us entities.
* advanced proficiency in microsoft excel (including power query and advanced reporting tools).
* strong organisational and time management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* professional accounting qualification (aca, acca, cpa or equivalent).
* previous experience with igaming-specific financial processes, including payment provider reconciliations and player fund management.
* familiarity with gaming-related us sales tax obligations
* experience of working in the sweepstakes sphere of gaming.
