Director, strategic partnerships, global insurance (bilingual in english and spanish)
as director, strategic partnerships, global insurance, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end partnership lifecycle including supporting the development of a partnership strategy and identifying, negotiating, and managing high-impact partnerships that drive profitable growth, expand market reach and enhance our value proposition.
you'll work cross-functionally and globally with product, distribution and sales, digital, legal, operations and marketing teams to build scalable, mutually beneficial relationships with external insurance companies.
in this role you will:
strategic partnership development
support the development of a unified global partnership strategy that communicates a clear and compelling business case and narrative, and a partnership framework that can be applied to various partners.
identify and evaluate global partnership opportunities aligned with business goals
collaborate with product and digital teams to co-develop innovative solutions and joint go-to-market strategies with partners
lead end-to-end structuring, negotiating and execution of new and existing partnerships
drive internal education and enablement around partnership strategy
partnership monitoring and maintenance
advise leadership on deal terms, pricing, and revenue-sharing models
define and monitor kpis to track performance of our insurance partners to drive accountability for desired results; monitor partner performance, profitability, fit, cost efficiency, and contribution to client value
work closely with legal and compliance and ensure that contracts for partnerships are in place and have gone through our third-party risk assessment process, perform regular maintenance of existing partner and vendor management processes, maintain rigorous standards, including am best ratings.

understand how the bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
relationship management
cultivate relationships across insurance, and internally across all key stakeholders, including retail distribution and retail product in canada and internationally
work in close cooperation with cross-functional teams and in-country teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of partnership initiatives
cultivate deep relationships with insurance company partners to enable prompt issue resolution, negotiate sla improvements, add product enhancements as required and identify opportunities for market growth.
stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies
represent the company at global insurance events
work closely with the product team, digital and teams in-country (latam and caribbean) to understand the competitive landscape and products, and tailor offerings to local market needs, as well as partner suitability and competitiveness on an ongoing basis.

influence internal roadmaps and priorities based on partner feedback and market needs

do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
university degree in business or marketing or relevant insurance industry designations
10+ years of experience in insurance
proven track record of building and scaling (global) partnerships
deep understanding of the insurance value chain and digital transformation trends
strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities
experience working in a matrixed, global organization
spanish and english fluency is required
