Macos engineer – intune application & os management
overview
we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented macos engineer to join our endpoint management team. This role will focus on packaging and deploying macos applications, managing os updates, and remediating vulnerabilities using microsoft intune. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in macos systems, automation, and enterprise device management, with a strong understanding of security and compliance requirements in a modern workplace.
key responsibilities
* package, test, and deploy macos applications using microsoft intune and other relevant tools
* design and implement automated workflows for os updates and patch management
* monitor and remediate macos vulnerabilities in alignment with security policies
* collaborate with infosec and it teams to ensure compliance with endpoint protection standards
* maintain and optimize device configuration profiles, policies, and conditional access rules
* troubleshoot deployment issues and provide tier 3 support for macos endpoints
* document processes, configurations, and best practices for internal knowledge sharing
* stay current with apple's enterprise management tools, intune updates, and security advisories
required qualifications
* proven experience managing macos devices in an enterprise environment
* hands-on expertise with microsoft intune for macos application deployment and device management
* strong understanding of apple mdm protocols, intune, or other macos management platforms
* proficiency in shell scripting (bash, zsh) and automation tools (e.g., python, swift, autopkg)
* familiarity with macos update mechanisms, security patching, and vulnerability remediation
* experience with certificate management, zscaler, and endpoint protection tools like crowdstrike falcon
* knowledge of apple business manager, volume purchasing, and dep enrollment workflows
* excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in cross-functional teams
* strong written and verbal communication skills
preferred qualifications
* experience integrating macos devices into a zero trust architecture
* familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., cis benchmarks, nist, iso 27001)
* experience with github or other version control systems for managing scripts and configurations
