This role ensures alignment of people, processes, and systems with local business objectives, regional hr strategy, and corporate standards. The director serves as a trusted advisor to site leadership, balancing compliance, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness while supporting sustainable business growth.key responsibilitiesstrategic leadership & business partnership- align mexico hr strategy with corporate and regional human resources objectives, ensuring consistency with north american people strategies. - serve as a strategic advisor to the managing director and site leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and change management initiatives. - provide regular reporting, insights, and people analytics to leadership.compliance, labor relations & risk management- ensure full compliance with mexican labor laws, union agreements, internal policies, and applicable quality, ethics, and sustainability standards. - lead union relationships, collective bargaining processes, contract renewals, and risk mitigation activities. - oversee labor investigations, employee complaints, and litigation matters through resolution, in coordination with legal counsel. - represent the organization with labor authorities, external auditors, and regulatory bodies as required.talent, total rewards & organizational development- oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, and talent development programs. - support succession planning, high-potential development, and leadership capability building aligned with future business needs. - guide training and development initiatives that strengthen technical, leadership, and cultural competencies across the organization.culture, engagement & employee relations- foster a high-performance culture rooted in company values, ethical behavior, and continuous improvement. - promote employee engagement, well-being, occupational health, and a positive organizational climate. - ensure effective hr communication channels and measure their impact across the organization.operational excellence & governance- ensure standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement of hr processes in alignment with corporate frameworks. - establish, monitor, and report on key hr metrics and people analytics to support informed decision-making. - authorize hr-related expenditures, training plans, staffing actions, and resources within delegated authority.authority- approve hiring, promotions, transfers, and terminations within established policies and budgets. - approve hr operating expenses, training investments, and workforce planning recommendations. - act as the site authority for hr compliance, audits, and people-related governance matters.key competencies- strategic thinking and business acumen - leadership and influence - labor relations and negotiation - ethical judgment and integrity - change management and adaptability - communication and relationship management - analytical thinking and problem solvingqualifications- bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field; master's degree preferred. - 10+ years of progressive human resources experience, including leadership of an hr function. - strong knowledge of mexican labor law, union relations, compensation, benefits, and employee relations. - experience partnering with senior leaders in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. - advanced english required; spanish fluency required. - experience with multisite operations is required. - ability to travel up to 50%.
