The role the ehs multi-site engineer ensures full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and municipal environmental and safety regulations, as well as clarios corporate ehs standards.
this role leads the implementation and maintenance of the ehs management system across multiple sites, partnering with the ehs cluster manager and local site ehs leaders.
the position is responsible for managing all environmental permits and licenses for assigned facilities (e.g., recycling permits, hazardous waste storage permits, environmental operating licenses, hazardous waste generator permits, and other local/state authorizations).
this role supports clarios' commitment to world-class closed-loop recycling, safety, and environmental stewardship.
what you'll do lead the implementation of safety, health, and environmental strategies across assigned sites, working closely with operations teams.
ensure compliance with internal and regulatory ehs requirements through audits, inspections, documentation, and data tracking.
develop and administer iso * (environmental) and iso * (safety) management systems, including hazard analysis, safe operating procedures, risk management, spill prevention, hazardous waste management, transportation regulations, emissions, and emergency preparedness.
provide leadership in maintaining ehs compliance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
serve as the technical liaison with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies; prepare written or verbal reports and presentations as needed.
submit required regulatory reports (monthly, quarterly, semiannual, or annual).
maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable ehs laws and regulations and support assessments, capital projects, work orders, and procedure updates.
analyze proposed regulatory changes and assess impacts on manufacturing operations.
conduct periodic self-assessments for safety, health, and environmental compliance.
communicate ehs risks and opportunities to regional and site leadership.
implement communication and training strategies to reinforce ehs awareness and ownership at all levels.
track and report environmental and safety performance metrics.
escalate ehs issues promptly to business and site leadership.
ensure accurate monthly updates of legal compliance status through enhesa and ehs core systems.
perform other ehs duties as assigned and adhere strictly to safety, health, and environmental procedures.

what you bring education: bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, ehs management, or a related field.
experience: minimum 5 years of ehs experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
