Job title
a senior trade compliance analyst is required to oversee and ensure compliance with all mexican trade regulations, including immex and prosec programs.
* this role will support the import/export process, assist in customs planning, and handle the intricacies of these programs to optimize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
key responsibilities
1. ensure the proper preparation and filing of all necessary documentation for immex program activities, including customs declarations, invoices, and certificates of origin.
2. verify that all imports and exports under the immex program are processed and cleared in accordance with mexican customs regulations.
3. support day-to-day compliance with immex program requirements, including inventory control, reporting, and reconciliation of temporary imports.
4. continuously evaluate and improve immex processes and practices to ensure they are efficient, cost-effective, and fully compliant with mexican trade laws.
5. identify opportunities for optimizing duty savings and other benefits available under the program.
6. accurately classify products (mx) and perform regular reviews of hs classifications to ensure accuracy.
7. maintain a global parts database.
8. perform thorough analysis of supplier documentation and product details to assess country of origin.
9. develop and implement strategies to automate or streamline country of origin assignment processes, while maintaining full compliance with trade laws.
10. analyze and verify product eligibility under the usmca.
11. collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper understanding and implementation of usmca rules of origin.
12. conduct pedimento audits to verify compliance with all import/export transactions.
13. respond to broker requests and support review of performance against kpis.
14. create and manage export paperwork required for shipments.
15. maintain accurate and organized records of all trade compliance activities and documentation.
requirements
* bachelor's degree in supply chain management or logistics.
* 5+ years of experience working with customs procedures, rules of origin, tariffs, and international trade regulations (both mexican and u.s.).
* knowledge of annex 24 aranxel system, reporting, and erp warehouse system conciliation for submission to annex 30 on a monthly basis.
* strong knowledge of hts classification and general rules of interpretation (gri).
* 5+ years of experience with usmca and knowledge of rules of origin and qualification requirements.
* thorough understanding of import/export regulations and compliance standards.
