General summary
the manager, marketing, mexico and latin america, plays a crucial role in supporting the planning and execution of the preferred hotels & resorts (ph&r;) marketing strategy, to drive room nights and revenue into member hotels in mexico and latin america.
the manager will also support global marketing initiatives as needed.
primary areas of responsibility
under the guidance of the global director, marketing, and mexico and latin american regional leadership, the manager will work hand‐in‐hand with the ph&r; regional team and member hotels to plan, organize, develop and implement marketing opportunities specific to the region, with the goal of stimulating hotel stays into and within the region.
the manager will be able to compellingly present opportunities to member hotels and encourage them to provide funding for additional marketing exposure.
the manager will also work closely with global marketing, i prefer hotel rewards loyalty program, and the digital team to ensure the hotels in the region participate and support all global programs and provide local content from the region for those programs.
additionally, the manager will work with the regional team and global partnerships director to identify and pursue local marketing partnerships and barter opportunities.
a core responsibility of this is to be the liaison to member hotels within the region, especially mexico and latin america, understanding their needs and demonstrating the value of their partnership with ph&r;.
the manager, marketing will have a deep understanding of the mexico/latin american region, including business culture.
proficiency in both english and spanish (written and verbal) is essential for success in this role, portuguese is a plus.
the role will be based in mexico city.
organizational relationship
the manager, marketing reports directly to the global director, marketing, and has a dotted‐line relationship with the region (where most of the day‐to‐day interactions will occur.) The manager works closely with all marketing and communications disciplines (digital, partnerships, loyalty, pr), plus regional executive vice presidents and directors, revenue management, sales, and customer service.
the manager will have frequent contact with member hotels.
duties & responsibilities
integrate fully into the regional team to understand the value of ph&r; membership to hotels, the marketing opportunities and priorities from the perspective of the regional team and hotels in the region, and focus for key hotels or hotel groups.
work with hotels to ideate and present marketing opportunities specific to the region, including encouraging hotels to fund incremental marketing investments.
support the participation of hotels in global marketing campaigns, and help ensure regional hotel content is integrated into global campaigns.
lead the identification and implementation of regional partnerships, with support from global partnerships as needed.
manage the american express brazil relationship.
pursue local opportunities such as travel agency magazine placements, etc.
support the regional team with hotel road shows and other travel trade initiatives for travel into the region, within the region, and outbound from the region to the rest of the preferred network.
collaborate closely with i prefer team to help support hotel enrollments, hotel training and guest engagement with the loyalty program.
qualifications
analytical skills with the ability to assess data and form recommendations.
ability to thrive working within a decentralized integral organization.
required languages: english and spanish, written and oral; portuguese a plus.
hospitality experience a plus.
strong written and verbal communication skills.
ability to organize and manage multiple projects at one time.
ability to solve problems when needed and be innovative in various situations.
proficiency with technology tools, including powerpoint and excel.
working conditions
based in mexico city.
this position will consist of *% travel outside the office, primarily within the region.
