As the engineering manager, ai in the cocounsel drafting group, you will be responsible for leading the development of the core applied ai/ml capabilities to power the transactional drafting product portfolio and help our customers to drive their journey to more efficient drafting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior team members, and help drive the roadmap of the area. You will cultivate a vision and strategy for the team aligned with our mission and guide innovation projects from end-to-end: idea to production.

in this opportunity as an engineering manager, ai, you will be responsible to:
- be both highly technical and an effective people manager, can be hands-on when needed
- lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area
- work with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy
- drive roadmap creation and execution
- collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives and have an impact at an organizational level
- participate in technical design
- measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals
- work effectively with cross functional partners and stakeholders to set and achieve optimal outcomes
- partner with leadership to influence and drive org design, contribution and prioritization
*about you*
you’re a fit for the role if your background includes:
- 5+ years of software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management building holistic web based software solution, api design, and interactions between servers and clients
- 5+ years experience coding in one of the following languages: c#, python
- 5+ years experience coding in one of the following ui frameworks: angular, react, typescript
- 5+ years experience working with cloud technologies: azure, aws or gcp (preferably, azure)
- 2+ years of experience developing, coaching, and managing engineering leaders
- ba/bs in computer science (in lieu of degree, 4+ years work experience)
- demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management
