cost estimator
determine all wire, material, and labor necessary to build a cost product.
responsibilities and skills
1. receive, interpret, and organize customer prints and specifications; independently determine all wire, material, and labor operations necessary for cost estimation.
2. request and gather data from accounting, purchasing, manufacturing engineering, and plant engineering to analyze and improve the accuracy and efficiency of the enterprise-wide cost estimating system.
3. gather and analyze data to prepare documents related to price justification, negotiations, and project revenues for submission to pkc management and/or customers.
4. represent costs in program meetings (e.g., va/ve blitz, issues meetings) to determine costs and evaluate significant program cost and timing issues.
5. independently determine product pricing, handle significant issues, and interface with customers in the absence of the cost estimating supervisor.
6. track all rfqs received for monitoring and control.
7. support other programs to ensure customer compliance.
8. implement improvements to reduce delivery time and increase quote accuracy.
9. comply with environmental, safety, and health legal requirements as per legislation and regulations of our customers and stakeholders, as well as those established by the company.
profile
minimum qualifications
* college degree in industrial engineering or related field.
* minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive industry environment.
* advanced knowledge of analytic methods and exploratory techniques related to cost estimating and analysis.
