*job summary*the strategic sourcing analyst is responsible for negotiating contracts, improving processes, analyzes product availability and pricing trends and assesses potential supply sources to reduce costs and risks to create value through strategic sourcing.
this role will also be creating category strategies while compiling and analyzing statistical data to determine the feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives/strategies.
analyzing suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect price and determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
review proposals, negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends, approve order placement, and maintain necessary records such as inventory at planned levels.
*duties and responsibilities*_1.
contract & process management_*- lead the contract negotiation process, negotiating pricing, key terms, service level requirements, key performance indicators (kpis), and other performance metrics- manage the contract review process, obtaining the appropriate approvals prior to execution- maintain contracts for the assigned categories within the contract management tool on a continuous basis*_2.
strategy_*- develop and consistently execute category strategies across the assigned categories in support of achieving overall savings targets- analyze category markets; assess risk, gather intelligence on fundamental conditions and technical information that impacts the category.
develop sourcing strategies and category strategies based on market intelligence gathered- perform total cost of ownership evaluations, perform supply-market research and conduct pricing and impact analysis*_3.
cross functional role_*- build relationships with suppliers and business stakeholders, understand business requirements, and drive incremental value for the business- acts as a communication liaison between the asrs and the vendors.
this communication may include product availability, best cost efforts, order accuracy, or any other concerns.*_4.
procurement process _*- acquisition of hw complex products such as servers, networking, and subscriptions.
mainly focused on cisco, apple, and customer-specific purchases- acquisition of complex sw.- provides inventory and forecast control management to maximize cash flow utilization.- works on strategic planning to find ways to innovate, automate, and identify process improvements to ensure the operation is at the highest standard to meet the customer's expectations and demands
