Overviewjob description this is a continuous project that focuses on cost reduction of existing mass volume products across all honeywell hbt portfolio. Examples of products include electronic thermostats, building controllers, control panels, fire detectors, etc. The responsibility of the hired engineer is to identify product cost savings opportunities through vendor changes of used mechanical components or mechanical assemblies, as well as through mechanical changes. Lead projects that implement these changes, cooperate with the design teams and isc (integrated supply chain), prepare test plans, perform tests of the component and final product in the laboratory, prepare test reports – all to ensure the product after cost reduction changes works as per specification and with unchanged quality. Implement the change in the mass production factory. Be prepared for multitasking. Good communication and negotiation skills are required daily in connection with enablers involved in these projects – design teams, isc, manufacturing site, suppliers.responsibilitiesparticipate in cost reduction ideas generationperform or support feasibility review of new ideas assignedtotal cost model preparation and approval – collecting project data such as cost of engineering services, capital investment, other services, project length, etc., and defining the return on investmentredesign mechanical parts or mechanical assemblies in order to reduce the product costtest plan preparation – prepare the specific test plan for the project to make sure the alternative component will satisfy all requirements and final product performance meets the specificationcomponent and product level qualification – perform all required testing in the laboratory, complete test report, get approval from clientqualificationsmaster’s/bachelor degree in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering3 years of experience in mechanical component engineering, mechanical designessential deep knowledge of mechanical design and components, their parameters and characteristics, material specs, gd&t, experience with conditional qualification testing, 3d modelingcad tools (creo/proe), solidworks, ul/csa/ce standards, statistical methods and tools, ms officevery good written and spoken english, very good communication and negotiation skills, ability to work in an international team, multitaskingmanufacturing process knowledgemetal die casting knowledgeinjection moldingproject management & communications skillsabout ushoneywell helps organizations solve the world\'s most complex challenges in automation, the future of aviation and energy transition.
