about the role
as a backend engineer, you will be embedded within our client's team alongside other oneseven tech engineers, designers, and project managers. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining our client's existing ruby on rails backend application while building robust apis for ehr (electronic health record) integrations. Your role will involve setting up ci/cd pipelines, managing aws infrastructure, and ensuring applications are hipaa compliant when dealing with patient data in the health-tech space. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and improve existing ones, ensuring seamless backend performance and data security. Regularly updating documentation and unit tests for qa will be part of your responsibilities, along with adhering to development procedures like pull requests, branch naming, and time tracking on jira tickets.

you'll be working with healthcare data systems to create scalable, secure backend solutions that power our healthcare technology platform, with a focus on ehr integrations and api development for seamless data exchange between healthcare providers and our applications.
qualifications
* 5+ years of experience working as backend developer with ruby on rails
* 5+ years of experience working actively with ruby on rails in production environments
* experience integrating ehr systems
* must have devops experience
* must have deep aws experience
* highly experienced in english - excellent written and verbal communication skills required
* able to work 9am-5pm est
* provide your own workspace with reliable internet service
* passionate about the startup environment and eager to learn

* ability to quickly adapt, learn, and solve problems

core backend development
* develop and deploy ruby on rails (monolith) backend code for our web and mobile applications
* develop and maintain existing backend application with performance optimization
* build robust apis for ehr (electronic health record) integrations
* expertise writing and integrating rest apis
* experience with ruby on rails 6.1 or newer
* knowledge of phi, hipaa compliance, the fhir standard for exchanging healthcare information electronically, and the healthcare industry
* share knowledge of the best software development practices

* experience working with linux os is a must
* experience with mysql is a must
* experience with postgresql is preferred
