As a result of growth, our client seeks a humanresources manager to join their recent start-up plant in mexicali,b.c., mexico. The position human resources manager reporting to thehsio plant manager, the human resources manager's role is toprovide leadership and management of a multi-function team in theareas of safety, environmental, work environment, internal policiesand procedures, talent recruitment, and development. The humanresources manager is accountable for providing the best workenvironment and developing plans for talent. Driving a culture ofcontinuous improvement in all facets of the operation is necessaryfor success. This plant is still in the latter end of a start-upphase but still in an aggressive ramp-up phase. This plant is partof a multi-site campus. Main responsibilities: - ensuring thathealth and safety regulations are met. - determining andimplementing world-class safety control mindset and standards. -coordinating successful implementation and compliance with theresponsible business alliance (rba). - partnering with plantmanager to manage salary/hourly manpower, training, anddevelopment. - developing and implementing safety and environmentalprocedures to ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably andefficiently with the objective of zero accidents. - accountable formaintaining and improving the bu expense of recruitment, hiring,employee transportation, and cleaning services. - providingleadership and talent development to staff, including establishingobjectives, setting goals, and managing accountability forattaining deliverables. - directing and supervising the recruitmentand selection of indirect personnel. - coordinating actions to meetminimum staffing requirements. - listening to and resolvingconflicts supervisors and employees. - supervising the activitiesof the human resources team. - developing policies and proceduresfor compliance with the code of labor conduct and ethics. -developing strategies for employee retention and turnoverreduction. - managing the proper application of incentives andsalary increases. - generating statistical reports for thecorporate office. - ensuring compliance with the federal labor lawand the internal labor regulations. The candidate - bachelor'sdegree in human resources, psychology, business administration, ora related field. - minimum of 3 years of experience in a similarrole as human resources manager or possibly a senior hr generalistin a large manufacturing operation who has solid leadershipqualities and is ready for a promotion to hr manager. - solidknowledge of mexican labor law, labor relations and hr practices. -human resources generalist background to include general knowledgeand some experience overseeing safety, eh&s, recruitment,training, talent development, compensation and benefits, laborcompliance and general affairs. - fluent in english (85%+) andspanish. - advanced proficiency in microsoft office suite and tresssoftware skills desired. - solid management and leadership skillswith the ability to manage priorities effectively. - strongdecision-making skills coupled with strong problem-solving skillsand strategic thinking. - team-oriented mindset and ability tobuild interpersonal relationships. - excellent negotiation skills.- fast paced and proactive with outstanding communicationabilities. - open to travel. - familiarity with mexicali is highlypreferred.
