*job description:*:this position will support the resource industries procurement team in managing purchasing, inventories, and processes around multiple tiers of the supply chain.
the incumbent will develop and produce program and/or project management schedules.
utilize professional project management tools and techniques to develop and implement processes to support acquiring, reporting, and tracking of inventory caterpillar purchases at multiple tiers of the supply chain.
manage change and take active leadership in timely decision making.
manage schedules that reflect detailed information related to the changes, including effected components and functions, time lines for various stages of project completion, costs, etc.
will work with the individual team members from multiple functional disciplines (engineering, inventory management, purchasing, it, facility engineering, etc ) and the customer to establish completion dates.
monitors progress of projects, discusses problems with affected areas, assures appropriate personnel are informed of problems and steps are in place to meet schedules.
depending on nature of problems, expected to recommend possible solutions and alternatives.
*job purpose*: incumbent will be expected to complete individual small or moderately complex programs or multiple projects with limited scope.
provide leadership in the development and updates of program and project management schedules.
accountable to ensure project deliverables are achieved on time, within budget and scope, the incumbent has the ability to lead and motivate people and encourage teamwork, an ability to communicate effectively with senior management, and a clear vision of what determines a successful projects or programs for the customer and for the company.

*job duties*:incumbent supports the various program teams and obtains/provides a variety of information starting at the concept stage and continuing through prototype, pilot, implementation and follow-up stages of the various programs.

*background/experience*:this position requires proven experience with project management concepts, including project charters, scheduling and planning projects and successful completion experience is required.

a college or university degree is required along with 9-12 years of progressively related experience.
in addition, a technical or analytical focus is highly desirable.
excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or influence others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.
should have strong project management skills, team leadership skills, excellent communication skills, ability to multitask effectively, strong analytical and organizational skills.
professional training in project management software and techniques as well as and leading and facilitating meetings is highly desired.
previous green belt or black belt experience is a plus.
