responsibilities
the ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating domestic and international shipments, transportation, customs documentation, inventory movement, and warehouse‑to‑customer delivery processes to ensure timely and cost‑effective operations. This position will work closely with production, warehouse, purchasing, suppliers and overseas teams to support business requirements, maintain accurate logistics records, and ensure compliance with company procedures and import/export regulations.
* oversee end‑to‑end import and export logistics operations to ensure on‑time and compliant delivery.
* optimize logistics costs via freight negotiation, route planning and process improvements.
* maintain relationships with customs authorities, freight forwarders and external agencies to resolve clearance issues.
qualifications
* education: bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management or related field preferred; candidates with local mexican logistics training certification are highly preferred.
* experience: 3+ years in import/export logistics with 2+ years of team management experience; must be familiar with usmca regulations and north american customs clearance processes.
* technical skills: expertise in customs declaration, documentation and warehouse management; knowledge of mexican tax compliance (iva, isan) and proficiency in sap/oracle systems.
* language: native spanish speaker with business‑level english proficiency; mandarin skills are a significant plus.
* leadership: manage a team of 3‑5 members including logistics specialists and documentation clerks; capable of supplier negotiation and team training.
* soft skills: proactive problem‑solving for clearance delays or transportation disruptions; cross‑cultural collaboration experience; in‑depth understanding of immex program and local compliance standards.
* experience in china‑mexico cross‑border logistics projects is preferred.
* familiarity with special policies in mexican free trade zones (tijuana, ciudad juárez) is preferred.
* hold ciltm, cscp or cpim certification is preferred.
