In this role you will plan, organize and direct all activities of the materials department, which includes production planning; the acquisition of materials, components and supplies through the coordination of subordinate personnel, the efficient use of resources and the solution of problems inherent to the department.
in this role, your responsibilities will be:
1. supervise the good performance and quality of service by the areas of production planning and purchasing, facilitating the fulfillment of objectives and projects in a timely manner, serving, and solving situations in the areas and providing technical guidance and advice to leaders and supervisors.
2. supervise the planning of production programs, verifying the adequate distribution of production loads and the release of work orders on time by planning.
3. supervise the adequate purchase of materials for production, as well as supplies, ensuring optimal delivery, price and quality by suppliers and the efficient dispatch of components.
4. provide support and guidance to department personnel as required to maintain high standards of work and efficiency in activities. Ensures adherence to systems, policies, procedures and standards of the company and corporate.
for this role, you will need:
1. advanced data analytics & forecasting skills.
2. deep understanding of global supply chain dynamics, including international trade regulations, logistics, and cultural nuances.
3. apics lean manufacturing & six sigma certification are desirable.
4. excellent communication skills in spanish- english.
5. proficient in the use of mrp and erp systems (sap, oracle, etc.) to optimize materials management processes.
6. strong negotiation skills and experience in managing complex supplier contracts.
minimum qualifications:
1. b.s. or equivalent, in business administration, industrial engineering, international business, or related field.
2. 8+ years of general experience in inventory control, production scheduling, purchasing and materials management.
3. apics certification is desirable.
4. excellent communication skills in spanish- english.
5. ability to optimize resources, labor and costs.
6. provable experience in project management.
7. knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma and continuous improvement tools as well as related improvement projects.
8. experience working under the iso-9000 standard.
9. experience in the use of mrp and erp systems.
10. strong technical, managerial and leadership skills.
11. understanding of cost drivers in manufacturing operations.
12. management of pull systems (kanban).
