about the role
we are looking for a generalist odoo functional consultant to join our erp implementation team. This role is 80% practical configuration and 20% functional consulting—perfect for someone who enjoys working directly in the system, solving operational puzzles, and seeing tangible results fast.
you will not be expected to code in python. Instead, you will use your deep expert knowledge of the odoo interface to configure standard modules, ensuring the system adapts perfectly to our clients' business processes.
the challenge: initial projects
you will hit the ground running with two exciting, complex projects:
manufacturing & retail: a costume manufacturer with external maquila, multi-store retail, and franchises.
horeca distribution: a tableware commercialization company involving b2b e-commerce and textile manufacturing.
both projects require robust configuration of mexican localization (cfdi 4.0), multi-warehouse structures, and omnichannel flows.
key responsibilities
advanced configuration: set up multi-warehouse structures (zones/racks), removal strategies (fifo/fefo), and complex boms (bill of materials) for manufacturing.
commercial flows: configure price lists, credit limits, pos (point of sale) per location, and b2b/b2c e-commerce catalogs.
accounting support: while you won't lead the accounting, you must validate that operational modules (sales/inventory) generate correct journal entries and support cfdi 4.0 testing.
training & adoption: lead practical training sessions for warehouse staff, sales teams, and managers to ensure high user adoption.
testing: execute uat (user acceptance testing) to validate configurations before go-live.
requirements (must-haves)
experience: 2-4 years of practical experience configuring odoo (versions 14, 15, 16, or 17).
track record: minimum of 3 full implementation cycles where you actively participated in configuration.
language: native spanish is indispensable (c2). Intermediate english for technical documentation is desirable.
module mastery: advanced knowledge of inventory and sales; intermediate knowledge of purchasing and crm.
localization: experience with at least 1 project involving mexican localization (cfdi).
desirable skills (nice-to-haves)
odoo functional certification (highly valued).
experience in manufacturing, retail, or horeca industries.
knowledge of odoo studio for no-code customizations.
experience configuring subcontracting/maquila flows.
