job overview:
the dimension control tech provides solutions to problems in the dimension control discipline without supervisory approval and evaluates and selects solutions from established operating procedures and scientific methods.
responsibilities
key tasks and responsibilities:
* assist senior dimensional control tech in setting out primary control and establishing the suitable control network.
* perform the following surveys:
o post-weld surveys as specified in the dimension control plan and as required by the governing specifications.
o pre-weld surveys as specified in the dimension control plan.
o survey of miscellaneous assemblies as required.
o continuous level surveys during load out and weighing.
* prepare dimensional control reports.
* generate out-of-tolerance (oot) reports in cases of non-conformance and resurvey the structure after remedial actions.
* monitor and update the equipment calibration register.
* prepare calibration certificates.
* ensure that the latest drawings and calibrated equipment are used.
* use various types of survey-measuring equipment.
* understand and implement itp, codes, and specifications.
* operate autocad and use calculation programs.
qualifications
essential qualifications and education:
* senior high school diploma; a 2-year diploma in technical engineering or civil engineering is preferred.
* 3-5 years of surveying experience.
* good knowledge of surveying instruments.
* computer literacy: autocad and ms office packages.
