the position
as a senior project manager on the company’s scada operations team, you will report to the sr. Operations manager and work closely with a team of project managers, engineers, procurement specialists, and support staff. As a scada sr. Project manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of supervisory control and data acquisition (scada) projects from initiation to completion.
this role involves close collaboration with engineering, technical teams, customers, and various stakeholders to ensure that scada systems are implemented, tested, and delivered effectively and efficiently within scope, time, and budget constraints. As a scada sr. Project manager will also lead project planning, manage the project budget & schedule, resource allocation requirements, perform risk management, and be the lead for customer communications to enable successful project delivery.

construct sr. Project managers
as a senior project manager on the terabase construct operations team, you will report to the director, operations & delivery and work closely with a team of project managers and data analysts. This role involves close collaboration with customers, drone pilot teams & operators, subcontractors, a global data analyst team, and various stakeholders to ensure the construct product is implemented and delivered effectively within scope, time, and budget constraints. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of our utility-scale solar energy project management software, including customer relationship management and engagement.
your scope includes managing a portfolio of projects for key customers which involves regular interface through weekly meetings and project site visits and developing customized deliverables such as weekly progress reports.
additional scope includes subcontractor management of drone service providers, performing quality control functions of project artifacts and other deliverables, management and upkeeping of project data, product development and design reviews, and other day-to-day project tasking. You should demonstrate a meticulous approach to tasks, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of work, from data entry to project execution, to maintain high-quality standards and minimize errors.
responsibilities
daily project operations
* customer engagement: support customer engagements, from booking to delivery, demonstrating operational excellence resulting in delighted customers.
* project planning and execution: develop comprehensive project plans that define scope, schedule, budget, and resources. Manage project lifecycle stages from initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
* stakeholder management: serve as the primary point of contact for customers, subcontractors, and internal teams, facilitating clear and effective communication throughout project phases and managing stakeholder expectations.
* project controls: monitor and control project costs & schedules to ensure projects are delivered by budgetary constraints and on-time per project milestones. Prepare cost estimates, track expenses, and work with finance teams to report on financial status.
* quality control: ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards, are free from errors, and delivered in a timely manner by customer contract service level agreements. Oversee development and delivery customer deliverables, addressing issues and ensuring performance requirements are met.
* compliance and standards: ensure all projects adhere to the appropriate regulatory guidelines, industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Work with stakeholders and technical teams to maintain regulatory requirements.
* documentation and reporting: maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, budgets, progress reports, and change orders. Report regularly to senior management on project status, risks, and issues.
* team coordination: lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, to ensure alignment of project goals and objectives. Provide direction, delegate tasks, and facilitate collaboration.
* risk management: identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact. Adjust project plans as necessary to respond to changes and address risks.
* project contracting & negotiation: collaborate with legal and sales to review & revise contract terms, identify potential risks & develop mitigation plans, support customer negotiations, and the execution of contracts.
process improvement & product development
* identify and address gaps in processes and procedures, resulting in improved, streamlined workflows.
* collaborate with other departments on operational requirements needed to meet customer deliverables and departmental priorities.
* maintain a complete understanding of our products and services.
* identify and promote changes in terabase’s technology stack to increase operational efficiency.
* lead structured project reviews and contribute to the development of company-wide lessons learned including the documentation, education, and implementation of project learnings across teams.
customer success
* serve as the face of terabase for a portfolio of projects across key customers and manage the experience throughout the life of the engagement.
* interface & engagement with senior leadership and executive-level customers to lead strategic initiatives such as project execution workshops and other execution-focused discussions to improve overall experience
* work in partnership with the sales team to provide expanded services and support organic growth within existing accounts.
* act as a voice of the customer by representing their perspectives and interests in areas such as product roadmap, technical support, quality, etc.
* maintain the relationship to enable effective & active communication and a collaborative environment with the customer team to manage a variety of situations including conflict resolution, addressing complex & technical topics, and understanding when to seek leadership support to ensure the customer receives the proper level of care.
* perform and deliver a customer-centric experience ensuring every aspect of the project is managed such that terabase becomes an extension of the customer’s project management team.
strategic initiatives & teams
* serve as a mentor for more junior project manager team members offering guidance, support, and coaching to strengthen the overall team’s capabilities and implementation of lessons learned.
* serve as a collaborative partner to the leadership team with operational enhancements, identification of improved or new tools and processes, and other improvements
* cross-functional / cross-team operational project planning & execution to support & manage the deployment of multiple products on any given assigned project(s)
* provide performance feedback to management for pms and lead working groups focused on process standardization and improvement.
drone operations management [construct only]
* support subcontractor relationships including identification of new industry partners and qualified service providers, pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and formation of strategic partnerships for new & unique capture technologies.
* support & co-lead the discovery and potential implementation of new technology and service offerings enabling the expansion of product capabilities including discovery, r&d testing & trials, business case development, and implementation.
* become a power user of drone analysis tools and software to optimize processing workflows from start to finish – obtaining raw field data to generating and delivery of high-quality, frequent reporting & customer deliverables.
* regulatory compliance – stay current with industry and faa suas regulations and ensure that all projects adhere to local, state, and federal guidelines.
* frequent cross-team coordination and communication including the management of incoming data from contracted pilots across project sites, and support for the analyst team
the candidate
minimum qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, energy, or related field.
* pmi project management professional (pmp), pgmp (program management professional), or pmi-acp certification(s).
* 7+ years’ experience working as a project or operations manager in the solar or renewable energy industry, heavy construction, or aerospace industry
* excellent time management and ability to execute multiple projects across multiple customer relationships simultaneously.
* strong communication, customer relationship skills, and ability to communicate effectively and interact within a team environment.
* advanced or expert skill level in ms suite of software (outlook, excel, powerpoint, etc.)
* experience working with project management tools and platforms such cora, wrike, kantana, project insight, primavera p6, jira and other atlassian tools such as confluence.
* experience leading a small team and working with remotely distributed contractors.
* willing to work in hybrid (home/office) setup and work with minimal supervision.

preferred qualifications
* master’s degree in a related field such as engineering, project management, operations, or otherwise.
* experience and knowledge of pv plant components such as pv modules, trackers, inverters, hv systems, wind, and bess (battery energy storage systems).
* [scada only] experience working with scada systems, grid controllers, and weather measurement stations.
* [scada only] knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as modbus, snmp, opc, dde, tcp/ip
* familiar with product lifecycle management (plm) and enterprise resource planning (erp) software.
* [construct only] faa 14 cfr part 107 suas certified drone pilot with experience operating drones (quadcopter & fixed wing equipment)
