*objetive*:
develop and implement category strategies including lead of negotiations, supplier selection, supplier relationship, stakeholder management and implementing contracts for the procurement of technical equipment & tooling, custom engineered products, systems, software or components as well as facilities capital spend such as construction, building equipment, or forklifts
*primary duties and responsibilities*
- manages the bidding process, including the preparation of rfq’s, evaluation of bids, and supplier selection for the procurement of equipment & tooling, custom engineered products, systems, software or components and facilities capital spend
- negotiates contract terms, prices, warranties, and delivery conditions with suppliers.
- works with requestors to ensure that proper scope of work, statement of requirements or specifications, payment milestones and acceptance criteria are set in preparation for rfq and contract development.
- develops and implements purchasing strategies for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, service delivery improvements and process efficiencies in line with business requirements.
- stays abreast of technology trends, market forces and cost trends.
- supports the company’s technical teams with supplier’s performance reviews and supply base optimization.
- end to end project manager for savings initiatives from idea creation to implementation and financial validation.
- leads continuous cost reduction process for category.
- provides service to multiple sites and functional teams in mexico and usa with global interaction with suppliers and other regions peers or requestors.
*qualifications*
- minimum of 7 years of experience sourcing and negotiating contracts.
- bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, finance, business
- experience getting involved in technical discussions, preferably, with technical background and experience in an engineering related field (e.g. process engineering, equipment & tooling maintenance or development, facilities).
- experience reading and developing technical specifications, statement of requirements and/or scope of work documents in preparation for rfq’s and contracting processes.
- understanding of purchasing category management, price and terms negotiation, contract writing and cost analysis.
- negotiating experience at all levels.
- solid analytical skills, able to analyze large data bases to develop strategies.
- project management experience to coordinate with multiple functional areas to achieve desire results.
- experience working on a multisite, multicultural environment.
