the silicon and systems prototyping lab is looking for a cad engineer or design automation engineer who advocates applying tools, flows, and design methodologies to enable effective execution of complex chip design projects in diverse environments.
as part of the design automation team, your responsibilities might include, but are not limited to:
1. design, implement, verify, and support the enablement and adoption of hardware design tools, flows, and methodologies.
2. create and verify unique hardware designs, assemble design platforms, and integrate components into hierarchical systems to provide deployment coverage for end-to-end eda tool testing on new technology nodes.
3. develop, test, and analyze engineering design automation tools, flows, and methodologies to improve efficiency and optimize power and performance.
4. support development and enhancement of platforms, databases, scripts, and tools flows for design automation.
5. build a deep understanding of digital design, verification, structural and physical layout, full chip integration, power and performance, clocking, and timing to enhance future tfm development.
qualifications:
minimum qualifications:
1. bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
2. 3+ years of experience in chip design.
3. 3+ years of experience with shell scripting and programming languages (perl, python, tcl) in linux environments.
4. 3+ years of experience with eda vendor tools and methodologies related to digital and backend design, rtl to apr flows such as rtl simulation, synthesis, automatic place and route (apr), static timing analysis.
5. 3+ years of experience with synopsys or cadence digital design tools and flows such as fusioncompiler, primetime, innovus, etc.
6. intermediate to advanced english proficiency.
7. must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in mexico (the position is in mexico and is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship).
preferred qualifications:
1. master's or phd degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields.
2. experience managing linux-based server infrastructures.
