key responsibilities
* supervise and engage students in a safe and positive after-school environment.
* plan and implement educational and recreational activities that support student learning and development.
* assist students with homework and provide academic support as needed.
* encourage positive social interactions and teamwork among students.
* monitor student behavior and ensure adherence to school policies.
* communicate regularly with parents and school staff about student progress and any concerns.
* prepare and organize materials and resources for activities and lessons.
* support the overall goals of the after-school program to foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere.
skills, qualifications and experience
skills: classroom management – skilled in maintaining a respectful, focused, and supportive learning environment
qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in education, child development, or related field preferred.
* previous experience working with children in educational or extracurricular settings.
* ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities across multiple disciplines (academic, arts, sports, etc.).
* strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* patience, creativity, and the ability to engage students with diverse learning needs.
* ability to supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students.
* cpr and first aid certification (preferred or required depending on the institution).
* flexibility to work after school hours.
experience
2–5 years of experience teaching after school activities with children.
