What you will do?
1. responsible for meeting supplier quality metrics (ppms) through effective corrective actions related to defective raw materials from external suppliers, using smrrs on the iris system.
2. certify key suppliers to reduce inspection time and ensure quality at the source; lead onsite audits if required.
3. expedite defective raw materials on hold location.
4. coordinate supplier quality reviews with the corporate supplier quality chain for main suppliers affecting metrics.
5. participate and commit to quality assurance: ensure supplier quality meets johnson controls specifications, drawings, and standards at the part/component level; ensure suppliers meet agency requirements.
how you will do it?
1. work with suppliers to ensure effective and timely corrective actions to meet company sppm goals.
2. develop plans and execute certification processes for key suppliers in conjunction with purchasing.
3. collaborate with supplier global quality and purchasing on main suppliers affecting ppm for continuous improvement; participate in monthly mqr meetings.
4. work with sustaining engineering, production, and purchasing to expedite materials on hold (mrb).
5. support internal and external customers to address delivery performance issues related to supplier quality.
6. collaborate with quality engineers and manufacturing engineers to improve warranty and process metrics related to supplier quality issues.
7. participate in supplier assessments and onsite audits as needed.
8. coordinate activities related to sorting materials for third-party companies.
9. coordinate incoming inspection activities when necessary.
10. manage non-conformance parts from production or incoming inspection.
11. coordinate rma and debit memo documentation for returning non-conforming materials to suppliers.
12. participate in ehs committee activities and safety observation programs.
13. involve ehs areas prior to implementing new or modified materials or processes.
14. define, implement, and communicate health, safety, and environmental policies in your area.
15. contribute to safety, health, and environmental objectives and targets.
16. participate in the review and implementation of ehs management systems and training programs.
17. identify safety, health, and environment training needs and provide training to staff.
18. follow-up and review procedures and instructions in accordance with ohsas 18001 & iso 14001 standards.
19. attend training sessions on lean & six sigma tools and continuous improvement methodologies as required.
what are we looking for?
* bachelor's degree in electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar engineering technology.
* at least three years of progressive experience in engineering functions.
* strong technical skills in electro-mechanics/electronics and manufacturing processes.
* experience with ppap/papso processes.
* experience with iso 9000 quality systems practices.
* full bilingual proficiency in spanish and english.
