this role involves ensuring compliance and accuracy in the importation of goods into the united states. It requires auditing customs entries, invoices, and broker submissions to confirm compliance with u.s. Customs regulations, company policies, and country-of-origin requirements.
key responsibilities:
 * conduct detailed audits of entry packets received from primary customs brokers and freight forwarders.
 * retrieve and review entry packets, including entry summary, commercial invoice, packing list, and bill of lading.
 * cross-reference entries with the ace portal to verify alignment of declared values, duties, and country of origin.
 * validate duty percentages and tariff classifications are accurate and in compliance with u.s. Customs regulations.
 * spot-check commercial invoices against declared entry values to identify discrepancies.
 * ensure all applicable fees, tariffs, and charges are correct prior to approval of payment.
 * elevate inconsistencies, errors, or compliance concerns to the supervisor immediately.
 * maintain thorough documentation of all audits for internal controls and external regulatory compliance.
 * collaborate with brokers, freight forwarders, and internal trade compliance teams to resolve discrepancies and improve accuracy of submissions.
 * stay current with u.s. Customs regulations, hts classification updates, and trade compliance requirements.
requirements:
- bachelor’s degree in business administration, international commerce, or similar with 5+ years of experience in customs compliance, import/export operations, or related logistics/supply chain role.
