This opportunity is for a Director, Software Development who will manage and grow an engineering team for Audible’s Marketing Technology (MarTech) group.

The MarTech team’s mission is to develop systems and tools that enable marketers to provide customers multi-touch, personalized and timely messages that enhance the experience of using our services.
Customer journey automation and real-time targeting are examples of systems that the team works on.
One key initiative is the development of advanced marketing automation and efficiency tools powered by the latest AI and machine learning capabilities.
The team is constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in marketing technology, creating innovative solutions that empower our marketers to be more effective and efficient.
AS A DIRECTOR, SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT, YOU WILL
- Lead the delivery of large cross-functional projects, spanning teams and divisions within Audible and Amazon
- Collaborate to define core business objectives, ensuring efficient utilization of company resources for the best product, program, or project outcomes
- Manage multiple projects from concept to launch, working with cross-functional teams including technology, business, and operations, even when faced with conflicting priorities
- Contribute to the definition of technical architectures
- Demonstrate technical expertise, attention to detail, and proactivity in identifying and resolving issues
- Maintain consistent and transparent communication of project risks, progress, launches, and retrospectives to all stakeholders and teams
- Continuously strive to improve project execution performance, setting new benchmarks using objective metrics
- Actively mentor and develop junior team members, enhancing their skills, knowledge of our systems, and ability to achieve results

A day in the life
Qualifications
- Experience leading software development teams
- 7+ years experience of software development and deployment of distributed multi-tier applications
- 3+ years experience managing agile software projects across multiple and geographically distributed teams
- Experience delivering complex technical projects through effective team leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- Business fluency in written and verbal English
