Betboom méxico is looking for an experienced finance analyst sr. to oversee financial operations in mexico, with responsibility for both local and international transactions.
the ideal candidate will be responsible for managing multiple financial analysis projects at the same time. At month end, you will be responsible for budget, projection, and actual variance commentary.
responsibilities
* financial operations and reporting: ensure accuracy in financial transactions, maintain financial records, and produce timely financial and management reports
* budgeting and forecasting: collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to understand operational and strategic requirements, develop comprehensive budgets, monitor execution, and provide actionable insights to support liquidity management and organizational goals
* tax calculation and compliance: calculate and manage tax obligations both for domestic payments in mexico and for international payments. Ensure proper application of withholding taxes, vat, and cross-border taxation rules. Collaborate with external advisors when necessary
* tax optimization: analyze and propose tax optimization strategies considering the company's legal structure and international operations
* financial process setup and optimization: design, implement, and continuously improve internal financial processes in cooperation with the operations department to ensure efficiency, transparency, and compliance
* compliance and audit: maintain full compliance with local tax laws, financial regulations, and corporate policies; support internal and external audits
* cross-functional collaboration: work closely with global and regional teams, fostering effective communication and cultural alignment. Coordinate and supervise external providers in accounting, treasury, and tax matters to ensure high-quality deliverables, compliance, and consistency with internal processes
* process improvement: proactively identify and implement financial process enhancements and automation opportunities
qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles in mexico
* bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related fields
* prior experience working for an international company with multi-country operations
* in-depth knowledge of the mexican tax code and cross-border taxation
* experience managing international payments and withholding taxes
* previous experience in a startup or small to mid-size company environment
* strong business acumen, proactivity, and entrepreneurial mindset
* fluent english (written and spoken)
* proficiency in quickbooks and advanced excel
