For sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies, and services needed for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of machinery, equipment, and facilities.
Job Description: MRO Buyer
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement of MRO Items:
- Identify, source, and purchase MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) materials and supplies, including spare parts, equipment, and services required to maintain operations.
Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors of MRO products and services.
- Evaluate and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery conditions with suppliers to ensure the best value.
Inventory Control:
- Track and manage MRO inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock to meet production and maintenance demands while minimizing overstock.
Cost Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize MRO costs without compromising quality.
- Monitor and manage procurement budgets and negotiate cost-saving measures.
Data and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of MRO purchases, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to understand requirements for materials and services.
- Assist with the development of maintenance schedules and strategies to ensure the availability of necessary parts and supplies.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all purchased MRO materials meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices in procurement, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
Problem-Solving:
- Address issues related to delayed shipments, damaged goods, or incorrect orders.
- Resolve conflicts between vendors and internal departments efficiently and professionally.
Experiencia y requisitos
Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Background: Typically, a degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in procurement, supply chain management, or maintenance operations is advantageous.
- Key Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Good understanding of inventory management and control.
- Analytical skills to assess purchasing data and supplier performance.
- Familiarity with MRO-specific products and services.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
