the *operations manager* is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the full scope of manufacturing and logistics operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness across all areas.
this role is strategic and hands-on, requiring strong leadership and a focus on continuous improvement to meet organizational goals.
*key responsibilities*:
- *
operations oversight*
lead day-to-day operations including receiving, inventory management, production, maintenance, quality assurance, import/export, and shipping.
ensure alignment with production targets and performance kpis.
- *
safety & compliance*
ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
promote a culture of safety through policy implementation and training.
- *
cost control & budget management*
manage operational budgets and drive cost-efficiency initiatives.
monitor expenditures and implement corrective actions to improve profitability.
- *
team leadership*
lead, train, and evaluate operational staff.
foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and alignment with company values to enhance productivity and morale.
- *
process improvement & efficiency*
drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean, six sigma, or other methodologies.
optimize workflows, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational performance.
- *
quality management*
ensure that quality standards are met or exceeded.
investigate and resolve quality issues, working closely with relevant teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- *
logistics & supply chain coordination*
coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure the timely delivery and movement of materials.
- *
strategic planning & execution*
support layout optimization, production scaling, and the introduction of new processes or products.
align operational strategies with broader business objectives.
- *
reporting & analysis*
deliver regular reports on operational performance, challenges, and improvement plans to senior leadership.
*qualifications*:
- proven experience as an *operations manager* in a manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain environment.
- in-depth knowledge of logistics processes, shipping documentation, and inventory control.
- experience leading *process improvement* initiatives and managing kpis.
- proficiency in *wms* and erp systems.
- strong analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- * bilingual - english/spanish* (required).
- willingness to travel between *mexico and the u.s.* as needed.
