• designs and documents fixtures, tooling and equipment using cad.
• identifies opportunities for modular/universal solutions to cover the needs of multiple processes.
• work with machinists both internal and external to improve manufacturability of designs.
• responsible for managing the ordering, receiving, and assembling of machined parts.
• follow up the designs release to the system thru the change order process.
• ensure designs are machined to specification and producing expected results.
• document designs fully such that they can be easily replicated.
• devises and implements cost reduction/process improvement programs.
• assist on document validation results of fixtures, tooling, equipment implemented.
bachelor’s degree
• experience in high volume production mechanical fixture design
• experience in process automation, verification and validation
• knowledgeable of robotics/mechatronics and plc systems
• cswp (certified solidworks professional)
• proficiency in working on manual and/or cnc mills and lathes
• sme in selection of materials for tools, fixtures, and jigs for specific applications
• familiar with fabrication equipment and their limitations/capabilities (cnc mills/lathes, laser/water jet cutting, presses)
• experienced with inspection tools.
• excellent technical writing abilities.
• excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• excellent computer skills - cad, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• ability to be part of a team and adept in building and leading teams.
