job summary
this position is accountable for leading and developing the manufacturing and process engineering functions in this plant. Responsibilities include working on line balancing according to business necessities, transferring manufacturing processes, implementing lean manufacturing and six sigma standards to reduce cost across the plant, driving operational excellence, supporting business growth, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and high‑quality production.
job responsibilities
* lead the development, optimization, and standardization of manufacturing processes aligned with eaton business system (ebs).
* responsible for manufacturing and process for the entire facility.
* project manager (based on prolaunch).
* monitor and improve kpis such as oee, fpy, productivity, and lead times.
* apply lean management systems/tools and continuous improvement framework (cif) and methodologies, including structured problem‑solving concepts/tools (ebs tools).
* knowledge of erp systems, including mrp logic and transactions.
* oversee production planning, scheduling, purchasing, and inventory control.
* control the prisma maintenance software for updating assets, parts lists, creation and deployment of preventive maintenance routines and work orders, and train users.
* identify and execute cost‑out initiatives and productivity improvements aligned with business goals.
* leverage data analytics and industry4.0 technologies to enhance process capability and decision‑making.
* promote automation and smart manufacturing solutions to improve efficiency and reduce variability.
* collaborate with product engineering, quality, and supply chain to ensure seamless product launches.
* ensure execution of pfmeas, control plans, standard work, and process validation activities.
* support root‑cause problem‑solving using structured methodologies (e.g., 8d, six sigma).
* partner with quality teams on audits, certifications, and corrective actions.
* lead by example to promote eaton’s zero incident safety culture. Ensure all processes are designed and operated in compliance with ehs regulations and eaton standards, and drive risk assessments and hazard mitigation in manufacturing processes.
qualifications:
* education level required: bachelor’s degree in engineering related to the area.
* bilingual: spanish – english.
* 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing and process engineering.
* experience in the electrical industry or similar regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
* knowledge of safety regulations.
* strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma (green/black belt preferred), and eaton business system (or equivalent).
* expertise in process validation, pfmea, control plans, and problem‑solving methodologies.
* experience with automation, industrial systems, and digital manufacturing tools.
* familiarity with erp/mes systems.
