this role leads cross-functional projects focused on process optimization, waste reduction, and productivity enhancement using lean, six sigma, and data-driven methodologies.
the lean engineer partners closely with leaders and functional teams to identify opportunities, deliver sustainable results, and support a culture of continuous improvement.responsibilities- lead and execute complex lean six sigma black belt projects across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, engineering, hr, finance, and other business areas.
- conduct in-depth data analysis to identify root causes, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- facilitate kaizen events, value stream mapping sessions, and problem-solving workshops.
- implement standardized processes, visual management, and performance monitoring tools.
- manage project charters, timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful execution and measurable outcomes.
- track and report project performance (kpis, financial impact, roi) to senior leadership.
- coordinate cross-functional project teams and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- promote lean culture, coaching leaders and employees in ci tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- provide training in lean, six sigma, pdca, dmaic, 5s, vsm, smed, and other methodologies.
- support departments in building operational discipline and process stability.
- partner with functional leaders to prioritize improvement initiatives aligned to business goals.
- support the development and deployment of the company's continuous improvement roadmap.
- influence decision-making through data-driven insights and structured problem solving.qualifications- bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- certified lean six sigma black belt (required).
- 5+ years of experience leading continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives in manufacturing or similar environments.
- proven track record delivering measurable improvements through lean and six sigma methodologies.required skills- strong knowledge of lean, six sigma, statistical tools, and process mapping.
- proficiency in data analysis, kpis, vsm and performance dashboards.
- experience with project management methodologies and tools.
- high proficiency in ms excel, power bi, and other analytical software (minitab preferred).
- 2-5 years' experience in a manufacturing and distribution environment.
- strong leadership and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.
- excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation abilities.
- analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- ability to manage multiple priorities and complex cross-functional initiatives.preferred skills- experience in leading cross-functional teams.
