*role purpose*
provides support and oversight over the assessment, design, implementation and monitoring of the account certification process and remediation of initial findings to set up a long term process to consistently reconcile and/or substantiate hbmi accounts in accordance with hsbcś policy requirements (finance fim) and ensure exceptions are identified, escalated, and reported to the hbmi finance function through the monthly certification process, protecting hbmx assets, providing timely and accurate information to hbmi senior management.
This role has the main purpose to avoid losses due to regulatory fines and incorrect account registers ensuring the reasonability of the information in the financial statements.
*main activities*
- prepare and submit tax compliance and optimization activities for hsbc méxico, s.a such as vat, informative returns and other tax compliance matters.
- provide tax advisory on daily tax matters of the functions.
- support the tax team on gathering information to address audits from tax authorities, working with functions and lines of business outside taxes.
- support to the deputy tax director and the head of tax on any tax matter and special projects (mergers, restructures, etc).
- management of external and tax authorities audits and requirements.
- tax risk management and execute sox controls.
Requirements
- desirable bachelor degree in finance, business administration or economic areas.
- desirable m.d. in taxes.
- 5-7 years of experience in tax, specially on international services companies. Desireble financial sector.
- knowledge and experience in advisory (local and international), compliance and accounting for taxes.
