key responsibilities

  • market analysis: conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and sourcing opportunities in mexico.
  • supplier management: develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • negotiation: lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
  • quality assurance: collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure all sourced products meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • cost management: monitor and manage sourcing budgets, identifying cost‐saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • risk management: identify and mitigate risks associated with sourcing activities, including geopolitical, economic, and supply chain risks.
  • compliance: ensure all sourcing activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements.
  • reporting: prepare and present regular reports on sourcing activities, supplier performance, and market trends to senior management.
  • technical evaluation: assess the technical capabilities of suppliers to ensure they can meet product specifications and quality standards.
  • process improvement: implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sourcing processes and supplier performance.
  • data analysis: utilize data analytics tools to analyze sourcing data, identify trends, and make data‐driven decisions.
  • technical training: provide technical training and support to the supplier to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • drawings and specifications: read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate sourcing of materials and components.

qualifications

  • education: bachelor's degree in supply chain management, or engineering specialized in manufacturing (machining & welding) or a related field.
  • experience: minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the mexico market.
  • excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • proficiency in sourcing and procurement software.
  • fluency in english and spanish.
  • technical proficiency in data analysis tools and sourcing software.
  • ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • ability to travel as needed.
