particle is hiring a junior site reliability engineer to join particle's site reliability engineering team to help scale our platform across the globe.
the sre team provides cloud infrastructure, tools, processes, and services that our engineering team uses to deliver quality products to particle's customers.
in this role, you will work with senior site reliability engineers to design and implement across a variety of systems such as container platforms, cloud providers, service discovery and service mesh tooling, and networking infrastructure.
you'll work with infrastructure tools, cloud provider sdks, build and deploy automation, and observability systems.
this role provides an opportunity to grow as an individual contributor while leveraging your communication, organization, and software engineering skills.

*you will*:
- learn how to build secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure that supports global expansion
- learn how to automate away infrastructure provisioning and operational toil leveraging tools like kubernetes, terraform, and helm
- learn how to build monitoring dashboards and alerts that help us understand the health of the particle platform
- support software teams by providing infrastructure needed for new software features
- participate in a pagerduty rotation that responds to platform availability incidents
*you have*:
- a desire to learn new things
- experience with at least one modern programming language, such as javascript, python, or go
- a commitment to creating well-tested software - including building and maintaining thorough automated test suites and efficient ci pipelines
- experience with at least one cloud platform, such as amazon web services (aws)
- experience with docker, kubernetes, linux, and unix shells
- experience with git and the github platform
- strong communication skills, both written and verbal
*bonus if you have*:
- experience with monitoring, alerting, and service level objectives (slos)
- experience with incident response
- experience with the cultural philosophies, tools, and practices of devops
- experience working remotely for a u.s. based company
- ability to travel to the us periodically
