eaton's is veh vgna division is currently seeking a sr trade compliance analyst to plan and coordinate the operational activities of eaton aguascalientes to guarantee compliance with mexican and international customs trade law framework.
responsibilities
primary function:
plan and coordinate the operational activities of eaton aguascalientes to guarantee compliance with mexican and international customs trade law framework. Ensure that all policies and procedures are implemented and well documented, performing occasional internal reviews and identifying compliance problems that call for formal attention.
essential functions:
* ensure integrity of trade compliance processes.
* maintain a strong understanding of customs regulations related to import/export processes and communicate to the plant about relevant changes that have an impact on operations.
* monitor all obligations to maintain certifications such as vat, oea and ctpat.
* ensure that temporary inventory fulfills all mexican customs regulations.
* keep open balance within threshold by following standard gtm process on a monthly basis.
* ensure legal stay of fixed asset in the plant or other locations.
* provide guidance to stakeholders for any activity related to trade compliance, including the proper use of trade agreements.
* compliance on the reporting management such as immex 24 and annex 30, prosec, diot, inegi, vat, sub‐maquila, etc.
* audit import and export transactions, files and records to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
* support programs and projects to take advantage of free trade agreements and other duty savings opportunities.
* application of the 8 cif modules and support related initiatives on daily basis through establishing, maintaining and complying standard work and other tools. Participate in lean council and continuous improvement teams when required. Generate ideas for improvement according with the local programs.
ehs attachment tasks:
* drives and promotes zero incident ehs culture throughout site.
* accomplish with mesh requirements: ehs programs, waste requirements, training, inspections, etc.
* participate ehs gemba walks / inspections / programs.
* creates and facilitates ehs engagement through ehs teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
* submit kaizen burst ideas to improve safety.
* lead a team to evaluate and rank the plant's top ergonomic risks.
* ehs cost out & avoidance: hazardous waste, non hw, water consumption, energy savings, etc.
* incorporate ehs into lean (vsm, 5s, tpm, etc).
* work with site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key ehs operational controls are in place, on a pm program, and that ehs action items are resolved on a timely basis.
* identify and direct lean ehs project.
* completion of root cause analysis & capa for significant injuries/illnesses/ehs incidents.
qualifications
* degree qualification in foreign trade or related discipline.
* minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment, automotive preferred.
* thorough knowledge and understanding of mexican and international customs trade law framework.
* understanding risk/legal issues related to import regulations.
* excellent communication and writing skills.
* strong problem‐solving and decision‐making skills.
* negotiation skills.
* must be proactive and results oriented.
* working knowledge of mrp/erp system, oracle as a plus.
* proficiency in customs law, origin laws, annex 24, annex 30, immex requirements, international agreements.
* maquila environment experience.
* fluent in english‐spanish.
* strong ethics and professional presence required.
* negotiation skills and experience with suppliers.
* strong oral and written communication skills.

* anpqp process for new model launching preparation.
* annual survey to local and import suppliers to confirm capacity vs global demand.
* monthly survey to monitor supply capacity vs master schedule.
* crisis management at suppliers. Lead the improvement plan to avoid lack of parts.
* supplier performance evaluation.
* coca parts management.
* t2000 management. Capacity confirmation of new suppliers.
* alliance convergence. Interaction with several internal departments to guarantee the parts supply.
* support to the team members if needed.
