your mission, roles and responsibilities
the pdl is the primary forvia technical representative in front of customer.
leads the pdca (plan-do-check-act) for all technical/engineering related problem solving needs.
coordinates with engineering leaders (mechanical, electronics, software, etc..) to (lead - resolve - execute – implement) all the engineering requirements and deliverables.
get involvement with the program development team before the sop+90 in order to make a good reception of the program for serial life
goes from concept – implementation passing through analysis and validation all engineering changes coming from different parties. (manufacturing, production, purchasing, external suppliers and even customer design changes.
build an internal engineering schedule to match with customer master schedule and industrialization/purchasing or any other constraints.
all tasks must be performed according to pms, fes, established work-packages, 7-quality basics and any other standardized working schemes that are applicable.
accountable for all technical/engineering reporting to the program review committee (pmc), including risks, opportunities and corresponding action plans.
lead product re-definition in serial life that involves engineering changes coming from different parties. Conduct a technical risk assessment to determine potential treats and make plan to mitigate/eliminate as needed.
the pdl formally releases/approves internally all data levels that are given to the customer (cad data, customer specific engineering templates, etc..) and for internal use within the company.
establish and manage the bill of materials (boms) with all pdm (product data management) in any existing platform that is being used. (e.g. Sap)
manage and update ( when required ) the dfmea and complete the action plan related to product engineering jurisdiction.
manage engineering changes through ecm (engineering change management) process.
lead the action plan to solve all technical issues (including perceived quality issues).
implement forvias standards, guidelines and best-practices and manage potential conflicts with customer´s standards with gts (global technology standards), including internal deviations approval when required. (analyze and approve any product or process deviations).
support risk management with robust technical inputs in compliance to product/process design standards managing cross-functional reviews efm (engineering functional milestones).
define tool/mold specifications with the support of technical fellows and approve tool design release through the launch process involving other related parties. (e.g. Sqe, ipl, etc..)
propose/analyze/implement any engineering changes aiming to capitalize it as a va/ve with a significant cost avoidance and/or cost savings.
manage – release – deploy all equipment and process parameters and criteria when needed. Including the participation in aesthetic criteria and programming/checking parameters to be uploaded in the eolt (end of lie testers) and any other equipment or production line station that interacts with the product.
define the design validation plan and review (dvpnr) for the serial life products assigned.
responsible for engineering validation for all product and process when needed coming from any change request, to reach full ppap on-time and in compliance with oem and legal requirements.
complete product validation with the rest of the core team related with manufacturing areas.
your profile and competencies to succeed
minimum education level
* bachelor's degree in engineering areas electronics, mechanical, software, computer science, mechatronics, etc…
professional experience
* at least 3 years of automotive background working with clients such as oems and tier 1 suppliers.
* preferably working in electronics modules, ecus, infotainment displays and integration, adas and any other major module in automotive cockpit.
skills and competencies
* general automotive knowledge and tier i or oem engineering experience.apqp experience
* knowledge in the r&d and or electronic product development area.
* english advanced
* cad, cae, cam & pcb design computer skills.
* strong communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills
* strong teamwork sense
