Business Development Manager – General
Location: Mexico City
Role Overview
Emerging Markets Political Risk Analysis (EMPRA) is seeking a Business Manager to join our Mexico City‑based team. The role focuses on building the company’s client base, developing and delivering analytical and product solutions, and expanding our presence locally and abroad.
Responsibilities
- Develop and grow EMPRA’s client base, network of contacts, and strategic partnerships.
- Assist in the development and implementation of communications and marketing strategies across brands, markets, services, and languages.
- Improve client experiences by understanding needs, developing new products, and ensuring client expectations are met.
- Track client expectations and coordinate with teams to fulfill them.
- Support daily operational activities including proofreading, formatting documents, and other operational tasks.
- Develop and implement tools to streamline operations across areas.
- Manage onboarding of new clients and staff, facilitate hiring and onboarding processes.
- Track expenses and finances.
- Report to the deputy director of operations and other senior management.
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of two years of experience in business environments, preferably in a corporate context.
- Experience working directly with clients to translate vision into marketable products.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Proactive, self‑motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken).
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and G Suite.
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS coding.
- Familiarity with supplier management platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba).
- Knowledge of consulting practices.
- Experience with Google AdWords and other advertising platforms.
- Experience with customer management and database platforms.
Work Arrangement
The position is currently remote due to public health conditions; once offices reopen it will be an in‑location role based in Mexico City.
Compensation
Competitive, commensurate with experience.
